Job summary

East Gippsland Shire Council in Bairnsdale is offering a 12-month Business Traineeship, working 38 hours a week from Monday to Friday with no weekends or late shifts. You’ll gain experience across customer service, library, and visitors information services while completing a structured study plan.

During the first three months you’ll be hosted by the customer experience team and learn about council functions and administration.

Qualifications

• 12 months full time employment
• 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• Minimum of $877 a week, plus superannuation
• A clear study plan with support
• Experience across council teams including customer service, Library, Visitor Information services
• Learning with friends – three trainees

Responsibilities

• Learn fundamentals to start your career within the Council
• First 3 months hosted by the customer experience team to learn council functions and customer service basics
• Move around to different teams after three months to learn roles across council
• Weekly study time allocated for modules; plan to complete coursework
• Uniform and a laptop provided for study and success
• At the end of 12 months you’ll have a qualification and 12 months government experience
