Greater Dandenong City Council invites applications for a Casual Customer Experience Officer. You will be the first point of contact across phone, in-person and online channels, delivering friendly, clear assistance to our diverse community.

This casual role offers flexible shifts, training opportunities, and a pathway to support across multiple service locations. Excellent communication and empathy are essential, with the potential to engage across five days per week as required.

Greater Dandenong City Council is seeking a motivated and customer‑focused professional to join our Customer Service team on a casual basis. As a first point of contact, you will play a critical role in supporting customers across all service channels, including telephone, face‑to‑face and online interactions.

This casual role will provide flexible support during periods of increased demand, planned and unplanned leave, and other operational requirements. Shifts may be offered across Council’s customer service locations and contact centre, sometimes at short notice.

Greater Dandenong is one of Victoria’s most culturally and linguistically diverse municipalities. Success in this role requires outstanding verbal and written communication skills, the ability to explain information clearly and patiently, and a high level of empathy when assisting customers with varying needs and levels of understanding.

Key Requirements

• Fluency in a second language relevant to the community of Greater Dandenong is highly regarded

Availability and willingness to accept variable shifts, including shifts offered at short notice, based on operational requirements

• Driver’s license is not required, but the ability to attend various worksites at short notice is necessary
