Job summary

Peters Ice Cream, Australia's iconic ice cream manufacturer, is seeking a Customer Business Manager (CBM) for the Convenience & National Accounts team. You will report to the National Sales Manager and hold full P&L responsibility for Petrol & Convenience customers, driving profitable growth through JBPs and strategic partnerships.

You will lead a team, shape commercial strategy, negotiate with customers, and implement plans across channels.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in FMCG sales or retail account management.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L management.
• Experience in forecasting, analysis and business planning.
• Proven ability in strategic sales planning and key account management.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Experience leading, coaching or influencing teams.
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Marketing or related field preferred.
• Exposure to a successful global FMCG business and iconic brands.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end management of major Petrol & Convenience customers.
• Oversee state-based and national accounts via KPI Account Manager.
• Own customer P&L outcomes: revenue, gross profit, trade spend, forecasts.
• Drive new business within existing customers and emerging channels.
• Develop and execute Joint Business Plans for sustainable growth.
• Lead negotiations, promo planning, range reviews, and activation.
• Drive category, space, and eCommerce opportunities.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders across sales, marketing, finance.
• Contribute to annual planning and broader team leadership initiatives.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Customer Business Manager (CBM) to join the Convenience & National Accounts team.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will hold full P&L and strategic responsibility for key Petrol & Convenience customers, driving profitable and sustainable growth through best-in-class Joint Business Plans (JBPs), customer partnerships, and commercial execution. This role will include line management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end management of major Petrol & Convenience customers.
• Oversee additional state-based and national accounts through the leadership of a Key Account Manager
• Own customer P&L outcomes, including revenue, gross profit, trade spend, forecasting, and profitability
• Drive new business within existing customers and emerging channels
• Develop and execute customer Joint Business Plans to deliver sustainable growth and market share gains
• Lead customer negotiations, promotional planning, range reviews, and activation programs
• Drive category, ranging, space, and eCommerce opportunities
• Build strong relationships across customer and internal stakeholder groups, including Category, Marketing, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, and Finance
• Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, and broader team leadership initiatives

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' experience in FMCG sales, key account management, or retail customer management
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L management
• Experience in forecasting, analysis, and business planning
• Proven capability in strategic sales planning and customer relationship management
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Experience leading, coaching, or influencing teams
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or a related discipline preferred
