Job summary

The Star Sydney is seeking an energetic Cook to join our busy kitchen team at Harvest Buffet. You will support the Sous Chef, assist with food preparation, and help maintain high hygiene and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently completing a Certificate in Commercial Cookery (desirable).
• Proficiency with diverse food preparation techniques and cooking equipment.
• Experience in food preparation, preferably with a range of various cuisines and high-volume setting, with strong communication skills and understanding of relevant liquor laws.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support the assigned section as directed by the Sous Chef.
• Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
• Complete all duties in line with company and statutory hygiene requirements.
• Meet requirements for consistency and high quality in a fast-paced environment.
