Job summary

Mater Central Queensland - Rockhampton is seeking an experienced CSSD Manager to lead our Central Sterile Services Department at Townsville hospital. This permanent, full-time leadership role oversees reprocessing, sterilisation and distribution of instruments, driving safe patient care and high-quality service.

Lead a team of technicians, ensure equipment performance, and drive continuous improvement while adhering to AS/NZS 4187:2014 and NSQHS standards.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a CSSD Technician or Supervisor within a hospital setting.
• In-depth knowledge of sterilization methods, infection control and regulatory guidelines.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team.
• Ability to comply with standards, policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the CSSD, including decontamination, sterilization and distribution of medical equipment.
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of sterilization equipment and machinery.
• Advise management on issues affecting CSSD quality and financial performance.
• Develop and implement policies to optimise CSSD resources and outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with AS/NZS 4187:2014 and NSQHS Standards.
• Coordinate education and competency development within the unit.
