Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is highly desirable.
• Experience as a CSSD Technician or Supervisor in a hospital.
• Knowledge of sterilisation methods, infection control and regulatory guidelines.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily CSSD operations: decontamination, sterilisation and distribution of equipment.
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of sterilisation equipment.
• Advise management on issues affecting CSSD quality and financial performance.
• Propose improvements to production and service delivery.
• Develop unit objectives, procedures and practices per AS/NZS 4187:2014.
• Manage financial resources within CSSD and implement policies.
• Conduct audits and document quality initiatives per NSQHS Standards.
• Investigate procedure failures and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance with hazardous substances, manual handling and waste policies.
• Arrange education, orientation and competency training; coordinate in-service training.
