Job summary

Wilmar Sugar & Renewables is seeking an experienced Crushing/Turbine Operator to join the Plane Creek Mill team in Sarina, North Queensland. You will operate cane feeding, preparation and crushing stations and work with the operations shift team to ensure safe, efficient plant performance.

The role offers year-round permanent employment with a rotating shift roster during crushing and day work during maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience in sugar milling or heavy-industry operations.
• Ability to operate cane feeding, preparation and crushing stations.
• Willingness to obtain HRWL Turbine Operator and other tickets.

Responsibilities

• Operate cane feeding, preparation and crushing stations safely and efficiently.
• Monitor plant using Citect SCADA to oversee operations.
• Identify process problems, rate restrictions and report to supervisor.
• Complete operational logs and shift stop reports; respond to production needs.
• Maintain regular operational maintenance for safe, reliable milling train.
• Assist tradespeople with maintenance activities and plant isolations.
• Participate in risk assessments and follow isolation and permit-to-work processes.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards around equipment and work areas.
