Job summary

St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, is establishing a Critical Care Outreach Nursing (CCON) Team. We invite experienced Registered Nurses, including endorsed Nurse Practitioners or CNC2 candidates, to help lead acute care transformation and response to clinical deterioration within the hospital.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to education and service development, and support credentialing toward Nurse Practitioner endorsement with a structured pathway.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA and NMBA endorsement path toward Nurse Practitioner
• Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care is required
• Minimum five years full-time post-registration experience, plus three years in a relevant critical care setting

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced assessment and management of the acutely deteriorating patient
• Support early recognition and response to clinical deterioration
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes
• Demonstrate clinical leadership, education, and patient advocacy
• Support upskilling and capability building of the nursing workforce
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement, research, and evidence-based practice
