Job summary

St Vincent's Hospital Sydney is establishing a Critical Care Outreach Nursing team. The role seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Consultant (Grade 2) to improve recognition and response to clinical deterioration across the organisation.

The position offers an endorsed NP pathway or CNC2 framework with mentorship, supervision, and portfolio support to pursue Nurse Practitioner endorsement, plus opportunities in education and clinical leadership.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA
• Endorsed by NMBA to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (or in training)
• Approved postgraduate qualification in Critical Care
• Minimum 5 years full-time post-registration experience
• 3 years in a relevant critical care setting
• ACLS accreditation

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced assessment and management of acutely deteriorating patients
• Support early recognition and response to clinical deterioration
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes
• Demonstrate clinical leadership, education and patient advocacy
• Support upskilling and capability building of nursing workforce
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and research
