Job summary

St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney is establishing a Critical Care Outreach Nursing (CCON) Team. We invite experienced RNs to join this new service, with opportunities for Nurse Practitioner endorsement or progression to CNC2, delivering expert support for deteriorating patients across the hospital.

The role emphasizes leadership, education, and collaboration to improve outcomes, with a structured pathway and mentorship as part of professional development.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA.
Endorsement by NMBA to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (or working toward endorsement).
Approved postgraduate qualification in Critical Care.
Minimum five years post-registration experience and three years in critical care.
Current accreditation in Advanced Life Support Training.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced assessment and management of acutely deteriorating patients.
Support early recognition and response to clinical deterioration.
Work with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
Demonstrate clinical leadership, education and patient advocacy.
