Job summary

St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney is establishing a Critical Care Outreach Nursing team. Applications are invited from experienced Registered Nurses to join this new service as a Nurse Practitioner-endorsed or CNC2 role with a clear pathway toward Nurse Practitioner endorsement.

The role focuses on advanced assessment, early recognition of deterioration, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes within a premier inner-city hospital.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration; Nurse Practitioner endorsement preferred or pursuing.
• Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care is required.
• Minimum five years' post-registration experience and at least three years in a critical care setting.
• Current Advanced Life Support training accreditation is required.
• Strong leadership, teaching, and patient advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced assessment and management of acutely deteriorating patients.
• Support early recognition and response to clinical deterioration.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate clinical leadership, education, and patient advocacy.
• Upskill and build capability of the nursing workforce.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement, research, and evidence-based practice.
