The Salvation Army Australia is seeking a dedicated Case Worker for The Beacon, Perth WA. You will provide short‑term crisis case management during the first 21 days of a resident’s stay, assessing housing, health and practical needs while coordinating referrals with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Social Welfare or Community Services.
• Experience delivering client‑focused, trauma‑informed support.
• Ability to remain flexible, adaptable and calm in changing situations.
• Strong communication skills using clear, plain English.
• Capacity to build respectful relationships with clients and partners.
• Understanding of homelessness, its causes and impacts.
• Experience in welfare or human services.
• Desirable: A current driver’s licence to support clients with urgent appointments.
• A current First Aid Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, calm and welcoming first point of contact for residents.
• Deliver trauma‑informed, client‑centred and culturally safe support.
• Assess immediate housing, health, mental health, financial and practical needs.
• Tailor individual case plans to support client goals.
• Strengthen community connection through referrals and housing pathway access.
• Identify and address barriers to income supports and payments.
• Respond promptly to crisis situations with appropriate strategies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case notes, assessments and outcome data.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive and collaborative team environment.
