Job summary

Qantas Airways is seeking a Crew Systems Developer to join the Mascot Campus, Sydney. You will analyse and develop applications that optimise flight and cabin crew schedules and rosters across the Qantas Group, using a domain-specific language (RAVE) and Python.

You will work with internal and external partners to find optimal solutions that respect employee agreements and compliance rules, translating business ideas into technical specifications and delivering scalable results.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a software development role.
• Degree in software development, IT, or Aviation.
• Expertise in Python scripting or other programming languages (e.g. Java, C++, C#).
• Knowledge of industry standards for object-oriented programming.
• Able to translate complex business ideas into specifications.
• Strong communication with peers, support groups and clients.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and develop applications that optimise the planning of flight and cabin crew schedules and rosters across the Qantas Group.
• Work with RAVE and Python to solve complex planning problems, ensuring compliance with employee agreements.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to find optimal scheduling solutions.
