Job summary

Metcash Limited in Australia seeks a skilled Credit Officer for a full-time, permanent role based at Crestmead. The role operates in a hybrid environment: on-site three days per week with the flexibility to work remotely for the remaining days.

You will manage end-to-end credit lifecycles, assess new applications, review financial information and references, monitor trading performance, and drive timely collections while balancing risk with commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end credit control and cash collection.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• High attention to detail with solid documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assess new credit applications in line with policy and delegated authority.
• Review financial information, trade references, and supporting documents.
• Monitor customer trading performance and financial position.
• Manage ledger of customer accounts to ensure timely payment.
• Conduct proactive collection activities (calls, emails, dunning).
• Monitor accounts for distress signals or risk triggers.
• Apply credit holds or restrictions per policy.
• Ensure actions align with internal credit policy and standards.
