Job summary

Wormald in Homebush West is seeking a motivated Credit Officer to manage the accounts receivable for our WA portfolio and ensure timely collections. You will review credit applications, monitor balances and negotiate payment plans to optimise cash flow.

The role requires a relevant tertiary qualification and a minimum of five years’ experience in credit management or AR, with strong analytical and negotiation skills. Excellent Excel proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a credit management or accounts receivable role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with customers.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and accounting software; exposure to Pronto advantageous.
• Detail-oriented and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and processing customer credit applications to assess creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit limits.
• Monitoring account balances and following up on overdue payments through effective communication with customers.

About the Role

This is a full-time Credit Officer role based in Homebush West. In this pivotal position, you will play a key role in managing the accounts receivable and credit control functions of our WA portfolio, ensuring the timely collection of payments and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Reviewing and processing customer credit applications to assess creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit limits.

Monitoring account balances and following up on overdue payments through effective communication with customers resulting in a high volume of outgoing calls.

Negotiating payment plans and arrangements with customers to facilitate the collection of outstanding debts.

Providing accurate and timely reporting on the status of accounts receivable.

Maintaining detailed records and documentation of all credit-related activities.

Responding to customer account queries, including statements, invoices and payment enquiries.

Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant legislation and regulations.

What We Are Looking For

A relevant tertiary related qualification, would be advantageous.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a credit management or accounts receivable role.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with customers.

Computer proficiency using the Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel) and accounting software and data management tools. Exposure to Pronto would be advantageous.

A detail-oriented and organised approach to work with the ability to prioritise tasks.

Knowledge of credit management principles, collection strategies and relevant industry regulations.
