Qualifications

• Must have at least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season and cook food according to recipes and menu requirements.
• Check food ingredients and supplies to ensure quality and freshness.
• Operate and monitor ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.
• Portion, plate and garnish food for service.
• Store food safely and follow food safety and hygiene standards.
• Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements.
• Assist with menu planning and estimate food and ingredient requirements.
• Monitor food preparation and cooking to maintain quality and consistency.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen and work area.
• Train and assist kitchen staff and apprentices in food preparation and kitchen procedures.
