Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications and certifications in a related field.
• Minimum one year of relevant full-time experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
• Ability to prepare and cook a variety of dishes while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
• Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, prioritise tasks, and meet service deadlines.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook a diverse range of menu items, ensuring high quality and presentation.
• Prepare and portion ingredients, including dough, sauces, marinades and garnishes, in accordance with recipes and standards.
• Develop and update menus, seasonal specials and new dishes based on customer preferences and ingredient availability.
• Monitor food preparation and cooking for consistency in taste, portion size, and service timing.
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, assign duties, and provide training.
• Estimate food requirements, control inventory, order supplies and minimise wastage.
• Inspect incoming supplies to ensure quality and store ingredients per safety regulations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP and WHS requirements while maintaining a clean kitchen.
• Monitor operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment, report faults and arrange servicing.
• Collaborate with management and front-of-house staff to maintain efficient service and customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with management and front-of-house staff to support overall restaurant success.
