Job summary

G4S Australia is seeking a Court Security Officer for our Melbourne-based courts. The role involves ensuring safety and order for people entering the courts, performing x-ray screening, and conducting roving security patrols to maintain a secure environment.

The position requires a Certificate II or III in Security Operations, a current Victorian security licence, and first aid accreditation. Travel across Heidelberg and Bundoora Courts is required, with training provided on-site to qualify as

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all court entrants.

• Apply conflict resolution and negotiation to de-escalate situations.
• Act as first responder to incidents and emergencies.
• Manage access and control rooms.

Court Security Officer - Bundoora (Full Time)

• Full time employment opportunities available
• Daytime hours of operation Monday to Friday, no night or weekend work
• On-site paid training provided - including batons & handcuffs and x-ray screening
• After training, you'll be qualified as an Authorised Officer of the Courts
• Uncapped $500 bonuses for referring someone who becomes a G4S employee

About the role and team

Our team at Court Services Victoria keeps the courts and tribunals and the people who attend them safe, secure and orderly. As a valued team member, you'll play a significant role in helping build safer communities by ensuring the public feel safe and protected when dealing with the judicial system. This is a varied position where you have to think on your feet, be able to problem solve and work as a team, making no two days the same.

You'll be responsible for:

• Providing exceptional customer service to anyone entering the court
• Conducting x-ray screening, using metal detectors and searching individuals for prohibited items
• Roving security patrols within and external to the building
• Conflict resolution and negotiation
• Acting as a first responder to any incidents that may occur
• Managing access and control rooms

Court Services Victoria is divided into seven hub locations across the state. There are more than 65 courts across Victoria allocated to these hubs. Your workplace within a hub can be both fixed or flexible, and we can provide opportunities for movement within the contract to support your requirements. Our Metro Hub 3 consists of Heidelberg and Bundoora Court, and you must be willing to work across both courts.

What we're looking for

• Certificate II or III in Security Operations
• Current Victorian security licence
• Current first aid accreditation
• Must be willing to travel across Heidelberg and Bundoora Courts.
