Job summary

South Central Truck & Bus, part of the CMV Group, is seeking a Costing Clerk to support our Service Department with accurate costings, invoicing and billing activities. You’ll compile cost reports, pre-cost repair orders and prepare customer invoices, while maintaining data integrity and contributing to efficient service operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in costing or service invoicing is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and costing processes.
• Strong numerical and data accuracy skills.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Confident communicator, both written and verbal.
• Organised with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Compile cost reports for the Service Department, including calculating individual costs and estimating future costs.
• Reviewing and reporting on daily work-in-progress to support business plan targets.
• Pre-costing all repair orders, giving priority to wait and early jobs.
• Preparing accurate customer invoices in a timely manner, with clear explanations of completed work.
• Detailing recommendations for further repair works and/or wear reports, when required.
• Ensure the accuracy of customer, vehicle and billing details is maintained at all times.
• Preparing daily reports on departmental costs and margins.
• Ensure files are appropriately and accurately maintained in accordance with company procedures.
• Reviewing processes and recommending improvements to support ongoing invoicing efficiency across the business.

About the Role

As a Costing Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting accurate, timely and efficient invoicing across the Service Department. Your responsibilities will include:

What We’re Looking For

• Demonstrated industry business experience preferred
• Previous costing & / or service department experience preferred
• Confident computer skills in Microsoft Office
• Dealer Management Systems exposure
• Strong communication skills - written and verbal
• Sound computer literacy
• Strong numerical skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• A positive, team-focused approach and commitment to delivering quality service
