Job summary

Genesis Minerals Limited is seeking a Geology Technician to support exploration teams and mine planning. The role involves assisting geologists with collecting and coordinating geological data, performing RC/AC work, soil sampling and drill-site prep, and maintaining QAQC standards across sampling and data entry.

The successful candidate will contribute to core yard operations, laboratory areas, and data quality while working an 8/6 roster with FIFO or local options.

Qualifications

• Experience as Geological Technician in mining settings.
• Strong geology software skills and data handling.
• Ability to coordinate sampling, logging and QAQC.

Responsibilities

• Assist geologists with gathering, coordinating and communicating geological data for mine planning, exploration and ore extraction.
• Perform RC/AC work, soil sampling, drill site prep and rehabilitation as directed.
• Ensure QAQC of processing with quality mark‑up, photography and sampling per GMD standards.
• Maintain high‑quality data entry using Excel and Log Chief; coordinate core yard activities.
• Keep work areas clean and organized including sample prep laboratory and vehicles.

Job Statement

Due to ongoing growth in our operations, we are seeking a Geological Technician, in the role you will Assist geologists with the effective gathering, co‑ordination, and communication of geological data for mine planning, exploration and ore extraction at Genesis Minerals Operations. In addition, the role is responsible for actively contributing to the performance of the Exploration Department. Reporting to the Geological Technician Supervisor and working an 8/6 roster, the role can be FIFO from Perth to Laverton/Leonora, DIDO from Kalgoorlie or available for local residential.

The Opportunity

• Performing exploration related activities as directed including RC and AC work, soil sampling, drill site preparation and rehabilitation activities.
• Accepting responsibility for any drill hole processed and carry out and monitor QAQC of the processing ensuring delivery of quality mark‑up, photography, and sampling including Specific gravity, that follow GMD procedures and meet the GMD standards.
• Ensuring data entry is completed to a high standard to minimise errors using Excel and Log Chief software.
• Ensuring effective coordination of core yard activities.
• Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in work areas including sample preparation laboratory, light vehicles, and core yard.

Additional Requirements

• Driver’s license (C Class, manual car) – essential
• Previous employment history as a Geological Technician
• Experience in working with different types and styles of deposits
• Well-rounded technical and geology software skills
• Ability to produce a National Police Clearance (valid within the last 6 months) for site access purposes.
