Job summary

Norths Cammeray, part of Norths Collective, is seeking a Wok Cook with at least 2 years of experience in Asian wok cooking. You’ll join a vibrant team across Norths Collective venues, including The Greens North Sydney and The Verandah Beecroft, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities include food prep, portion control, maintaining hygiene, and supporting safety compliance while working a rotating roster that covers days, nights, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience at the Wok station and working under pressure in a fast paced kitchen.
• Understanding strict health and hygiene standards and Workplace Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience in food quality control.

• Overseeing the preparation, cooking and presentation of food
• Maintaining proper portion and stock control to keep food costs down
• Maintaining clean and orderly workspaces
• Hygiene and food safety of the highest level in accordance with food safety guidelines and Club policies and procedures
• Actively driving and supporting a range of Work, Health and Safety Compliance activities
• Communicating clearly with those in your team and all key stakeholders
• Training with junior kitchen team members demonstrated through policies and procedures and all training courses offered by Norths Collective

About the role:

We are looking for an energetic and motivated Wok Cook to join our team, with at least 2 years of experience with extensive Asian culinary Wok cooking.

Joining Norths Cammeray means you are part of Norths Collective which includes The Greens North Sydney, The Alcott Lane Cove, The Verandah Beecroft and Seagulls Tweed Heads.

Your Key Priorities will be to:

• Overseeing the preparation, cooking and presentation of food
• Maintaining proper portion and stock control to keep food costs down
• Maintaining clean and orderly workspaces
• Hygiene and food safety of the highest level in accordance with food safety guidelines and Club policies and procedures
• Actively driving and supporting a range of Work, Health and Safety Compliance activities
• Communicating clearly with those in your team and all key stakeholders

The Candidate:

• At least 2 years of experience at the Wok station and working under pressure in a fast paced and high volume kitchen
• Understanding strict health and hygiene standards and Workplace Health & Safety legislation
• Experience in food quality control
• Capability to work a rotating roster that includes days, nights, weekends and public holidays
• Passionate about producing great tasting, looking quality food
• Ability to work in a fast paced kitchen requiring clear communication skills
