Job summary

Norths Cammeray is seeking an energetic Wok Cook with at least 2 years of wok station experience to join our team. You will oversee the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes in a fast-paced kitchen.

This role requires strict health and hygiene standards, the ability to work under pressure, rotate across days, nights, weekends and public holidays, and clear communication with your team and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of wok station experience.
• Experience cooking in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Ability to maintain high food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the preparation, cooking and presentation of food.
• Maintaining proper portion and stock control to manage food costs.
• Keeping workspaces clean and orderly at all times.
• Upholding hygiene and food safety standards per guidelines and club policies.
• Driving and supporting Work Health and Safety compliance activities.
• Communicating clearly with the kitchen team and stakeholders.
• Training junior kitchen staff through policies, procedures and training courses.

Job description

We are looking for an energetic and motivated Wok Cook to join our team, with at least 2 years of experience with extensive Asian culinary Wok cooking.

Joining Norths Cammeray means you are part of Norths Collective which includes The Greens North Sydney, The Alcott Lane Cove, The Verandah Beecroft and Seagulls Tweed Heads.

Your Key Priorities

• Overseeing the preparation, cooking and presentation of food
• Maintaining proper portion and stock control to keep food costs down
• Maintaining clean and orderly workspaces
• Hygiene and food safety of the highest level in accordance with food safety guidelines and Club policies and procedures
• Actively driving and supporting a range of Work, Health and Safety Compliance activities
• communicating clearly with those in your team and all key stakeholders
• Training with junior kitchen team members demonstrated through policies and procedures and all training courses offered by Norths Collective

The Candidate

• At least 2 years of experience at the Wok station and working under pressure in a fast paced and high volume kitchen
• Understanding strict health and hygiene standards and Workplace Health & Safety legislation
• Experience in food quality control
• Capability to work a rotating roster that includes days, nights, weekends and public holidays
• Passionate about producing great tasting, looking quality food
• Ability to work in a fast paced kitchen requiring clear communication skillsDynamic, energised, management team that is embracing change and focused on success
