Job summary

Goodstart Horningsea Park is seeking a dedicated Centre Cook to create delicious, healthy meals that support young minds and bodies in our NSW childcare centre.

You’ll prepare meals with consideration for allergies and dietary needs, plan menus with the Centre Director, and maintain high food-safety standards. The role is part-time (19.5–32.5 hours/week), 8:30–3:30, weekdays only, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent, with experience in an ECEC setting.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check.
• Desirable: experience cooking for young children in a childcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals that meet dietary requirements and allergies.
• Plan menus and order food supplies with the Centre Director.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygienic handling of storage, preparation and serving.
• Part-time roster of 19.5–32.5 hours per week, 8:30–3:30pm on weekdays.

As a Cook at Goodstart, you'll create delicious, healthy meals that fuel young minds and bodies, becoming a cherished part of our community. Your passion for food and commitment to quality will play a crucial role in shaping the daily experiences of the children in our care.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies
• Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
• Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
• Part time roster of 19.5-32.5 hours per week 8:30-3:30pm weekdays only!
