Job summary

Nido Early School Yokine is seeking a Cook to prepare nutritious, balanced meals for children in a childcare setting. You will plan, cook, and serve meals in line with Nido menus while managing kitchen supplies and maintaining strict hygiene standards.

Applicants should have a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and a relevant cookery qualification; experience in childcare is a plus, with flexibility for part-time hours in Perth's northern suburbs.

Qualifications

• Certificate II/III in Commercial Cookery is desirable.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is required.
• Experience in childcare or aged care settings preferred.
• Valid WWCC (Working with Children Check).
• In-depth knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements.
• Evidence of completing National Child Safety Training or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Cook delicious, healthy meals using our menus.
• Purchase food and supplies for the kitchen.
• Ensure dietary needs and allergy restrictions are supported with risk minimisation plans.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.

The Role: Cook

• Cook delicious, healthy and nutritionally balanced meals using our Nido Menus
• Purchase food and supplies for the kitchen
• Ensure dietary and allergy requirements and restrictions for every child are supported by having thorough knowledge of risk minimisation and communication plans
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate II or III in Commercial Cookery - desirable
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate - required
• Experience working in a childcare or aged care setting
• Valid WWCC
• Strong understanding of allergens and dietary requirements
• Please note: Any candidate employed from 1 October must provide evidence of completion of the mandatory National Child Safety Training via Geccko, including Foundation Training (courses 1&2) and Advanced Training (courses 3&4), or be willing to obtain these certifications prior to employment.
