Job summary

Nido Pennington is seeking a dedicated Cook to create delicious, healthy meals for children using our Nido menus. You’ll purchase supplies and ensure dietary and allergy requirements are met with clear communication and risk minimisation.

You will maintain high kitchen hygiene, work in a supportive childcare environment, and contribute to a culture of care and learning that helps children develop lifelong healthy eating habits.

The Role: Cook

• Cook delicious, healthy and nutritionally balanced meals using our Nido Menus
• Purchase food and supplies for the kitchen
• Ensure dietary and allergy requirements and restrictions for every child are supported by having thorough knowledge of risk minimisation and communication plans
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate II or III in Commercial Cookery - desirable
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate - required
• Experience working in a childcare or aged care setting
• Valid WWCC
• Strong understanding of allergens and dietary requirements
• Please note: Any candidate employed from 1 October must provide evidence of completion of the mandatory National Child Safety Training via Geccko, including Foundation Training (courses 1&2) and Advanced Training (courses 3&4), or be willing to obtain these certifications prior to employment.
