Job summary

Nido Early School is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare nutritious meals for children in our Adelaide, South Australia campus. You’ll manage menus, food purchasing, and adherence to dietary restrictions while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen.

Qualifications

• Certificate II or III in Commercial Cookery desirable.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate required.
• Experience in childcare or aged care settings.
• Valid WWCC.
• Strong understanding of allergens and dietary requirements.
• National Child Safety Training steps or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Cook delicious, healthy, nutritionally balanced meals per Nido menus.
• Purchase food and kitchen supplies.
• Ensure dietary and allergy needs are supported with risk communication.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness at all times.

The Role: Cook

• Cook delicious, healthy and nutritionally balanced meals using our Nido Menus
• Purchase food and supplies for the kitchen
• Ensure dietary and allergy requirements and restrictions for every child are supported by having thorough knowledge of risk minimisation and communication plans
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate II or III in Commercial Cookery - desirable
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate - required
• Experience working in a childcare or aged care setting
• Valid WWCC
• Strong understanding of allergens and dietary requirements
• Please note: Any candidate employed from 1 October must provide evidence of completion of the mandatory National Child Safety Training via Geccko, including Foundation Training (courses 1&2) and Advanced Training (courses 3&4), or be willing to obtain these certifications prior to employment.
