Job summary

Varsity in Perth is seeking a motivated Kitchen Team Member to master food preparation and deliver Varsity quality meals across prep, fry, grill, pizza and salad stations. You will follow recipes and kitchen guides, ensure meals are served promptly, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen in line with hygiene standards.

You will also assist with stock rotation and support the training of junior staff. Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all technical aspects of cooking across stations.
• Work across prep, fry, grill, pizza and salad stations.
• Ensure dietary requirements are catered for safely.
• Support stock rotation to keep ingredients fresh.
• Deliver food and service to Varsity standards.
• Support training of the kitchen team.
• Bring passion and a positive attitude to every shift.

What will you do?

• Master food preparation, cooking and presentation to Varsity quality standards.
• Follow recipes and kitchen guides.
• Ensure meals are served in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen, that adheres to all food preparation and cleanliness guidelines. Also ensuring staff are following the kitchen cleaning systems.
• Participate in all technical aspects of cooking including but not limited to grilling, deep frying, and cooking meat and poultry.
• Work across all stations in the kitchen including prep, fry, grill, pizza and salad stations.
• Ensure dietary requirements are catered for in a safe manner.
• Support with stock rotation, making sure our ingredients are as fresh as can be for our guests.
• Deliver food and service to Varsity standards.
• Support the training of the kitchen team.
• Bring a passion for food and a positive attitude to every shift.

What Will You Bring?
