Job summary

Varsity is seeking a passionate kitchen team member to master food preparation and presentation to Varsity standards. You will follow recipes, manage portion control, and ensure meals are served promptly. The role covers all kitchen stations and emphasizes hygiene, safety, and teamwork.

Ideal candidates have a Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent, with infectious enthusiasm, a can-do attitude, and a love of good food and good times. Experience is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Master food preparation, cooking and presentation to Varsity quality standards.
• Follow recipes and kitchen guides.
• Ensure correct portion control.
• Ensure meals are served in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen, adhering to all guidelines and kitchen cleaning systems.
• Participate in all technical aspects of cooking (grilling, deep frying, meat and poultry).
• Work across prep, fry, grill, pizza and salad stations.

What will you do?

• Master food preparation, cooking and presentation to Varsity quality standards.
• Follow recipes and kitchen guides.
• Ensure correct portion control.
• Ensure meals are served in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen, that adheres to all food preparation and cleanliness guidelines. Also ensuring staff are following the kitchen cleaning systems.
• Participate in all technical aspects of cooking including but not limited to grilling, deep frying, and cooking meat and poultry.
• Work across all stations in the kitchen including prep, fry, grill, pizza and salad stations.
• Ensure dietary requirements are catered for in a safe manner.
• Support with stock rotation, making sure our ingredients are as fresh as can be for our guests.
• Deliver food and service to Varsity standards.
• Support the training of the kitchen team.
• Bring a passion for food and a positive attitude to every shift.

What Will You Bring?
