Job summary

Varsity in Fremantle is seeking a dedicated cook to join our kitchen team. You will master food preparation, follow recipes, and maintain high standards of portion control and timeliness while working across prep, fry, grill, pizza and salad stations.

We value enthusiasm, a can-do attitude, and a love of good food. Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not essential; Cert 3 is preferred. Join us for great times and opportunities to grow with our brand.

Responsibilities

• Master food preparation, cooking and presentation to Varsity quality standards.
• Follow recipes and kitchen guides.
• Ensure correct portion control.
• Ensure meals are served in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen, with cleaning systems in place.
• Participate in cooking across grilling, deep frying, meat and poultry.
• Work across prep, fry, grill, pizza and salad stations.
• Ensure dietary requirements are catered for safely.
• Support stock rotation and keep ingredients fresh.
• Deliver food and service to Varsity standards.
• Support the training of the kitchen team.
• Bring a passion for food and a positive attitude to every shift.

What will you do?

• Master food preparation, cooking and presentation to Varsity quality standards.

• Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen, that adheres to all food preparation and cleanliness guidelines. Also ensuring staff are following the kitchen cleaning systems.
• Participate in all technical aspects of cooking including but not limited to grilling, deep frying, and cooking meat and poultry.
• Work across all stations in the kitchen including prep, fry, grill, pizza and salad stations.
• Ensure dietary requirements are catered for in a safe manner.
• Support with stock rotation, making sure our ingredients are as fresh as can be for our guests.
• Deliver food and service to Varsity standards.
• Support the training of the kitchen team.
• Bring a passion for food and a positive attitude to every shift.

What Will You Bring?

• Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred
