Job summary

Arcare Clyde is seeking a Cook to join our team on a permanent part-time basis, with Saturday to Monday, 07:00–15:00 shifts. The role focuses on preparing delicious, nutritious meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and support their well-being in a supportive environment.

The successful candidate will bring a Certificate III or IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery), adaptability, teamwork, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• This job requires Australian Working Rights and a NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Adaptable, passionate and willingness to learn.
• Collaborative and skilled at teamwork.
• Friendly and effective communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation: Prepare meals according to menus designed by Head Chef, ensuring nutrition, appeal and dietary needs.
• Special Diets: Accommodate special dietary requirements (e.g., texture-modified diets).
• Food Safety and Hygiene: Maintain strict food safety standards and a clean kitchen.
• Quality Control: Monitor ingredients and dishes for taste, appearance and portion sizes.
• Collaboration with Kitchen Staff: Work with the team to ensure efficient meal prep and service.

Education

Certificate III or IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery).

The Cook plays a significant role in enhancing the overall quality of life for residents at Arcare by providing delicious and nutritious meals. The cook prepares appetizing and well-balanced meals while fostering positive dining experiences that contribute to the overall health and well-being of our residents.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Collaboration with Kitchen Staff: Work as part of a team in the kitchen, collaborating with other kitchen staff, to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
