Job summary

Commonwealth Bank of Australia is seeking a Controls Assurance Senior Manager to drive risk and control outcomes within the Retail Banking Services line. The role focuses on designing and embedding robust controls, enabling preventative measures, and leading a team to sustain continuous assurance across processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong operational risk background, proven leadership, and the ability to use data analytics to deliver meaningful risk outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong background in operational risk management, benchmarking, and analytical procedures from banking or financial services.
• Proven ability to lead and manage large teams, foster collaboration and high performance.
• Skilled at using data/analytics to test controls, solve problems, and drive risk outcomes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for relationship building and stakeholder collaboration.
• Clear and confident written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support RBS to design and implement preventative controls for better risk outcomes.
• Ensure effective design of controls for new/changed processes and support implementation.
• Design, develop, and embed a continuous assurance model for the business.
• Help embed effective controls across RBS by providing robust feedback and enhancements.
• Manage Control Assurance Program (CAP) testing, review test plans, and report findings.
