Job summary

Glencore’s Ulan Complex is seeking a Contracts Officer to join the Commercial Team. The role involves onsite management of end-to-end contracts across the Ulan Complex, ensuring documentation aligns with standards and policies.

You will advise management on protocols, support tender development, and maintain records while monitoring process effectiveness. Prior mining experience and SAP/MS Office skills are valued; relocation and career development are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential across multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and SAP is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Contract Documentation in line with Ulan Complex standards and policies.
• Advise management and Principal’s Representatives on contract protocols and procedures.
• Ensure contract processes comply with authorised company systems, policies and procedures.
• Assist in developing tender documentation.
• Provide training and support to mine contract holders.
• Proactively renew contracts before expiry or commence work.
• Maintain a robust system to record, store and recover all contract documentation.
• Monitor and improve the contract management process.

About Ulan Complex

The Ulan Coal Mines is an established, efficient, and high production underground longwall mining complex in the western coalfields of NSW. With state-of-the-art mining equipment, the latest technologies, and best in class safety practices, we are leading exporters in thermal coal. The complex comprises of Ulan Underground Mine, Ulan West Underground Mine and Ulan Surface Operations.

The Role

Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where organisation, problem-solving and attention to detail make a real impact? Reporting to the Contracts Superintendent, we’re looking for a Contracts Officer to join our Commercial Team, operating across the Ulan Complex.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of Contract Documentation in accordance with Ulan Complex Standards and Policies
• Provide advice and assistance to management and Principal’s Representatives in the correct protocols and procedures for initiating and undertaking contract works
• Confirm that all Contract processes are undertaken in accordance with the authorised company contract system, policies and procedures
• Assist in or undertake the development of the tender documentation
• Provide continued training and support to Mine contract holders
• Proactively identify and renew contracts prior to expiry/commencement of work/ future work
• Maintain an accurate and efficient system to record, store and recover all documentation associated with all contracts processed
• Monitor the effectiveness of the contract management process to identify improvements

You’ll succeed if you

Are an excellent communicator and demonstrate high attention to detail, with strong written ability. Have a flexible approach and are commercially orientated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You can engage with all stakeholders to ensure contracts are accurate and fit for purpose. Have high level computer skills, including the knowledge of Microsoft Suite of applications and SAP. Have qualifications in Contracts Management and experience working in Mining / Heavy Machine industries (desirable).

Location & Roster

Based at Ulan West, about a 45min drive from Mudgee, NSW. Availability of Primary and High Schools in the area State-of-the-art Sporting Complex New Hospital and Health Care Facilities Lively community, with markets, music and festivals Award-winning wine region 3.5 hours to Newcastle and Sydney Residential role - onsite Monday to Friday.
