Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is assisting a Canberra-based Tier 1 builder to appoint a Contract Administrator who will oversee commercial and contractual delivery on major projects. This role sits in a growing project team, delivering high-quality outcomes within a professional site environment.

You will manage head and subcontractor contracts, variations, EOTs, progress claims and cost reporting, while collaborating with the Project Manager and site team to maintain strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as a Contract Administrator within commercial construction.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and subcontract administration.
• Experience managing variations, progress claims and EOTs.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
• The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a project team.
• Relevant construction, engineering or quantity surveying qualification.

Responsibilities

• Manage head and subcontractor contracts from procurement through to completion
• Prepare, review and administer subcontractor packages
• Manage variations, extensions of time, progress claims and payment schedules
• Monitor project costs and commercial performance
• Assist with procurement and subcontractor negotiations
• Prepare monthly cost reports and forecasting
• Manage contractual correspondence and documentation
• Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and wider project team
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and key stakeholders
• Ensure contractual obligations and project milestones are effectively managed
