Job summary

Civmec Construction & Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking site and metro-based Contract Administrators and Quantity Surveyors to join one of Australia’s leading multidisciplinary construction groups. You will own key commercial and contractual functions across project lifecycles for a variety of civil and SMP projects on a 2:1 FIFO/DIDO roster between Henderson and client sites.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desired.
• Minimum 3–4 years’ experience as a Contract Administrator or Quantity Surveyor.
• Previous experience within the construction industry is essential.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• On-site construction experience for mining projects is desirable.
• Strong, clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong understanding of commercial management and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of vendor packages, including management of variations, EOT and daywork claims and record keeping.
• Perform cost control and reporting duties for end of month reporting and client reports.
• Attend weekly subcontractor and client meetings, representing Civmec’s commercial interests as required.
• Assist in contractual communications to clients, including notices of delay, extensions of time etc.
• Provide support to the project team in the preparation of relevant notices within designated timeframes.
• Notify clients of any issues, special circumstances or breaches of contract.
• Liaising with subcontractors to ensure all relevant insurances are current and legal (i.e. workers compensation).
• Revise and retain contract registers highlighting payment conditions payment claims; and
• Maintain company standards of documentation and records for Quality Assurance purposes.
