Job summary

West Recruitment in Sydney is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to own financial accounting and reporting across multiple units. This hands-on role supports month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and governance, driving improvements in processes and controls.

You will partner with stakeholders, provide insights, and contribute to statutory reporting and audits; CA/CPA and 3–5 years' experience required; advanced Excel and modelling skills; 6–12 month contract with a competitive

CA/CPA qualification and relevant tertiary degree are required.
3–5 years of experience in a similar financial accounting role in medium to large organisations.
Strong experience in month-end close, management reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
Solid understanding of financial controls, accounting standards and governance.
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.

Responsibilities

Manage month-end and year-end close activities including journals, accruals, prepayments and provisions.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation.
Analyse financial results and provide variance commentary against budgets and forecasts.
Partner with internal stakeholders to advise on accounting treatments and policies.
Support statutory reporting, audits and compliance with accounting standards.
