Job summary

Merivale in Sydney is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join the Financial Control & Reporting team. You will support a team of accountants, ensure AASB compliance, and lead balance sheet reconciliations and monthly close activities.

The role involves preparing external reporting, budgeting support for HQ cost centres, and coordinating audit responses. CA/CPA qualified with 5–7 years post-undergraduate experience is required. Strong Excel/PowerPoint and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with 5-7 years post-undergraduate experience in a reporting role.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and reporting controls.
• Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills for reporting and presentation.
• Attention to detail and ability to interpret complex financial data.

Responsibilities

• Assist team with technical accounting matters and day-to-day queries.
• Ensure compliance with policies and AASB across areas.
• Drive monthly balance sheet reconciliations and close processes.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and support external reporting.
• Coordinate responses to audit queries and support audits.
• Support budgeting and forecasting for HQ cost centres.
• Provide insightful analysis to improve reporting and controls.
