Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking an Assistant Accountant in Sydney to support month-end close, P&L analysis, and financial controls within the ANZ region. You will work under a Senior Accountant, contributing to journals, reconciliations, and timely reporting in a collaborative team.

Ideal candidates have CPA/CA progression, solid Excel skills, and experience in month-end processing and intercompany accounting, with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• CPA/CA qualification or progression.
• Practical accounting experience through an assistant accountant position.
• Exposure to financial control responsibilities, including month-end close and intercompany accounting.
• Experience supporting detailed P&L and balance sheet reviews.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly P&L analysis and investigate variances to ensure data accuracy.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end journals and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare and post journals for prepayments, accruals, WIP, contractor costs.
• Provide timely financial reports and dashboards (P&L, DSO, KPI metrics).
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and resolve unreconciled items.
• Support external and internal audits and contribute to timely financial statements.
