Job summary

Talent Street is seeking an experienced Program Advisor (Performance) for a Queensland state government client based in Townsville. This contract role offers potential for a 12-month extension and focuses on governance and program controls across complex delivery environments.

You will work with project managers, steering committees, and senior stakeholders to keep programs on track, audit-ready, and compliant, with emphasis on governance data, risk, and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated governance or project controls experience in complex delivery environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and dashboards; strong PowerPoint for executive reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for ministerials, briefing notes, and executive correspondence.
• Experience with project/program management systems such as SharePoint, registers, or similar IM platforms.
• Exceptional attention to detail in governance documentation and reporting accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare governance materials: agendas, briefing papers, minutes, action registers for regional and statewide committees.
• Track and close governance actions, escalation paths, and change control documentation.
• Monitor and update risk, issue, and dependency registers for program reporting.
• Standardise and validate data quality for governance reporting.
• Support capacity planning and ensure records and evidence meet requirements.
• Record and progress escalation change requests through to close-out or further escalation.
• Drive governance alignment across districts to support consistent oversight.
