Job summary

Transport and Main Roads in Townsville seeks an Advisor (Project Controls) to lead the Finance Controls and Procurement team, guiding project controls across the district's QTRIP program.

You'll oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting and governance, work with Project Managers and drive continuous improvement, with flexible working arrangements and a focus on safe, compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role would be highly regarded.
• Knowledge of SAP, 3PCM or similar systems is preferred.
• Ability to lead and develop team capability and deliver strong governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching, guidance and capability uplift in project controls
• Embed and maintain best-practice controls to ensure consistency, quality and compliance across the district
• Oversee project financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and variance analysis
• Ensure projects and contracts are appropriately approved and managed, including changes to scope, time and budget
• Deliver clear and timely program reporting to support decision-making across QTRIP projects
• Provide advice and support in project scheduling, governance and performance monitoring
