Job summary

Downer Adelaide is seeking a Contract Manager to lead the safe, effective and commercially sustainable delivery of asset management and facilities services on a government contract. You will report to the National Operations Manager and drive high-quality outcomes for essential services.

Job description

We currently have an opportunity for a Contract Manager. Join our Government and Integrated Facilities Management team and play a key role in leading the safe, effective and commercially sustainable delivery of asset management, maintenance and facilities management services for one of our contracts in Adelaide. Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.

What You’ll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

• Lead safe, compliant and effective delivery of contractual obligations across asset management, maintenance and facilities management services.
• Drive achievement of agreed KPIs, quality standards and performance outcomes within the contract's abatement and penalty framework.
• Manage commercial, financial, operational and contract risks while supporting profitability and sustained business momentum.
• Build strong relationships with the client, government bodies, unions, contractors, suppliers and internal governance teams.
• Create a high-performing, engaged workforce while building capability and identifying growth, retention and transformation opportunities.

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, ideally Business, Commerce or a similar field.
• Proven leadership experience in a large services organisation, preferably within an educational or facilities management environment.
• Strong commercial contract management, financial and budget management experience within a performance-based contract framework.
• Demonstrated success in governance, risk, quality and compliance systems, including management of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Highly developed stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, presentation and strategic business planning skills.
