Job summary

Buildability Group Professional Roles in Sydney is seeking a Lead Contract Administrator to manage the head contract and subcontract processes on a brand new $55m high-end residential project.

You will deliver complex tenders, negotiations, and detailed contract administration with a path to a Contract Manager role for high performers. The role requires 5–8 years experience and a strong client-management mindset, based on a reputable builder with a solid pipeline.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all facets of head contract and subcontract processes from tendering through to letting, payment and handover.
• Communicate contractual matters clearly to the project team and stakeholders.
• Administer projects ensuring accurate records and timely communication of details.
• Assist the Project Manager with project financial reporting and analysis.
• Develop understanding of project planning and scheduling.
• Ensure site safety compliance within your role.

This is a unique opportunity to work for a reputable Builder with a large pipeline of work for the next 3yrs. They build from start to finish, ensuring optimum consistency, cost efficiency and quality of finishes on every project they take on. This company works in a number of sectors and typically, projects range from $20m – $80m. They are renowned for possessing a superior level of expertise and experience in the industry and winning awards for building excellence.

WHAT’S ON OFFER

Our client is after a lead CA to join the business on a brand new $55m high-end residential project for a blue chip repeat client. This builder has a strong reputation for delivering complex detailed award winning projects. This is a very complex challenging opportunity and an excellent project for your CV. Ideally you would deliver this project as the lead CA and then if you perform to a high level you would move into a Contract Manager role for the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• In-depth understanding of, and the ability to manage, all facets of the head contract and subcontract process. This begins at tendering through preparation and letting, payment, and post project completion
• Proficient in all contractual matters and the ability to communicate this knowledge in a practical and meaningful way to the project team
• Understand and comply with the company business systems. Administer projects ensuring accuracy of records and timely communication of all project details
• Assist the Project Manager with project financial reporting and analysis
• Develop an understanding and working knowledge of project planning and programming
• Ensure safety compliance on site within your roles and responsibilities

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Tertiary qualification in either Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering
• Minimum 5-8 years previous experience, where you’ve negotiated and let contracts across a range of trades
• Strong knowledge of the head contract is critical
• Solid knowledge of subcontract tendering, standards, procedures and the competitive market
• Experience on construction projects in Residential from $50m – $100m
• Must have local experience, preferably in Sydney or other Australian States
• Exceptional client management skills
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail
• Proficiency in Jobpac or CHEOPS is advantageous
