Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Contracts Administrator in Australia to join the Contracts Management team within the CPX group. You will work across Construction, Legal and Procurement to protect commercial interests and ensure contractual compliance on wind energy projects.

Responsibilities include overseeing variations, EOTs, payments, risk registers, and dispute support while coordinating with Subcontractors and Clients on site. Degree-qualified with EPC experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Contract Administration experience in civil and electrical works, with experience on large EPC projects.
  • Understanding of wind energy and power infrastructure.
  • Degree qualified in engineering, law or finance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Subcontractor's Progress and coordinate review of variations and delay claims.
  • Provide ongoing commercial support to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Operate and maintain contract systems including Variation Registers, Delay Notices & EOT Registers, Risk Registers.
  • Ensure Client and Subcontractors bonds and insurances meet contractual requirements.
  • Support in dispute resolution processes as required.
  • Review documentation and coordinate on-site validity of variations with Construction team.
  • Draft contractual correspondence with Contracts Manager and construction team.
  • Draft and review EOT notices in coordination with Construction team.
  • Timely management of contractual issues and issuances of correspondences.
  • Assist in monitoring upstream program and capture delay/prevention issues for Client/Principal.
  • Assist in the review of monthly payment claims and issue of payment certificates.

The Contracts Administrator is a construction role which sits in the Contracts Management department within the broader Customer Project Execution (CPX) team. The CPX team is responsible for constructing wind farms, from producing proposals for developers to hand over to the Service organisation.

Working collaboratively with the Construction, Legal, and Procurement teams, as well as with other relevant stakeholders, including the Client/Principal and Subcontractors, the Contracts Administrator preserves the company's commercial interests while ensuring contractual compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor Subcontractor's Rate of Progress and coordinate with the Construction team the review of variations and delay claims made by Subcontractors
  • Providing ongoing commercial support - ensuring that suppliers, vendors and subcontractors of the project are adhering to the terms and conditions under which they were engaged
  • Operate and maintain commercial and contract systems including Variation Registers, Delay Notices & Extension of Time (EOT) Claim Registers, Risk Registers
  • Ensuring that the Client and Subcontractors' bonds and insurances remain in compliance with contractual requirements
  • Support in dispute resolution processes as required
  • Review documentation and coordinate with the Construction team on site as to the validity of variations, both upstream and downstream
  • Drafting contractual correspondence to clients and subcontractors in coordination with the Contracts Manager and construction team
  • Drafting and review of EOT notices in coordination with the Construction team
  • Efficient and timely management of contractual issues and issuance of contractual correspondences
  • Assist in monitoring the upstream program and capture all potential delay and prevention issues of the Client/Principal
  • Assist the Construction team with the review of monthly payment claims made by Subcontractors and ensure timely issuance of payment certificates and overall contractual and SOPA compliance
  • Involvement in the negotiation of new upstream and downstream contracts for upcoming projects and providing advice to the Legal and Procurement teams from a contracts management perspective
Qualifications

We are looking for a person with qualifications and experience that align with the below. We are open to receiving applications from candidates who may not meet all criteria but can demonstrate relevant experience.

  • 3+ years of Contract Administration experience in civil and electrical works, with experience working on large EPC projects
  • An understanding of wind energy and power infrastructure
  • Degree qualified in a relevant area (engineering, law, finance)
  • Solid contractual experience within the construction industry (civil/infrastructure, renewable energy, oil and gas - EPC/EPCM desirable) within a project environment
  • Experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor is preferred but not essential
  • Ability to find simplicity in the midst of complexity
  • Primavera or Microsoft Project experience would be beneficial but not mandatory, as would experience with Procore
  • Strong health and safety mindset
  • Able to collaborate across cultures and fostering a supportive team environment
  • Knowledge in Construction/Contract Law
  • Passion for large-scale renewable energy projects
