Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is assisting a Canberra-based client seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee the full construction lifecycle, coordinating design, engineering, manufacturing, delivery and onsite installation. You’ll be the central point of contact among internal teams and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is proactive, exceptionally organised and capable of reading architectural drawings, with strong communication and multi-project coordination experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in project coordination or a similar role.
• Exposure to the construction, manufacturing or building products industry.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency with Excel/Outlook/project tracking tools.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and following up outstanding actions.
• Experience with light gauge steel, timber frame and truss manufacturing would be advantageous.
• A qualification in civil or structural engineering, architecture or construction would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate multiple projects from contract acceptance to practical completion, maintaining schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate design and detailing workflows, manage drawing revisions, follow up RFIs and ensure latest approved docs.
• Coordinate production schedules with the factory team and manage manufacturing requirements.
• Organise transport, delivery schedules, site access, unloading and crane requirements.
• Coordinate installation crews, mobilisation dates and onsite progress.
• Maintain regular client/brand communications and provide project updates.
• Identify scope changes, coordinate variation requests and monitor costs.
• Maintain project trackers, schedules, drawing registers and logs.
