Job summary

ID Fitouts is seeking a Head of Operations, Design & Construction to lead the day-to-day operations of the business in our Sydney-area team. You will work closely with the Director and senior leaders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably and to a consistently high standard across design, construction and site teams.

You will set and monitor KPIs, drive process improvement, manage budgets and forecasts, and develop robust systems and workflows.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior operations or leadership role within construction, design & construct, property or a related industry
• Strong commercial and financial understanding, with the ability to interpret business performance and make informed decisions
• Experience managing budgets, costs, margins, forecasting and project profitability
• Excellent project and people management skills
• The ability to analyse financial and operational information and translate it into practical action
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
• The ability to establish structure, accountability and effective processes
• High attention to detail while maintaining a strong focus on the bigger picture
• Strong leadership capability and confidence in making commercially sound decisions

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the business
• Overseeing project delivery from commencement through to completion
• Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards
• Monitoring project performance, costs, margins, cash flow and overall commercial outcomes
• Developing and implementing efficient systems, processes and operational procedures
• Working closely with project managers, designers, site teams, suppliers and subcontractors
• Identifying operational and commercial risks and implementing practical solutions
• Establishing clear KPIs and reporting frameworks across the business
• Driving accountability, efficiency and continuous improvement
• Supporting workforce planning, recruitment and team development
