Job summary

TVF Trading Pty Ltd, based in Sydney, seeks a Sales Representative to drive new business across construction, manufacturing and industrial sectors. You will identify prospects, assess client needs, and recommend suitable building materials or consumables with strong product demonstrations.

The role requires at least a year in a building materials sales environment, solid B2B selling skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounts and negotiations independently.

Qualifications

• At least a trade qualification in business or a relevant field.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a Sales Representative or similar role in building materials, construction supplies or related products.
• Strong B2B sales and business development capability.
• Commercial negotiation and quotation preparation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple customer accounts and sales opportunities independently.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential customers and generate sales leads across the construction, manufacturing and industrial sectors through research, direct outreach and industry networks.
• Assess and review customer requirements to understand each client's specific needs and site conditions.
• Use product knowledge to match specifications to each client's need and recommend the most suitable building materials or industrial consumables.
• Provide product demonstrations to customers, explain their features, benefits and technical specifications in order to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
• Prepare price quotes, negotiate pricing and credit terms with clients, and finalise sales contracts in line with company pricing policy.
• Provide product-related technical guidance and customer training on the appropriate handling, application and safe use of industrial products and equipment.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain specialist technical information and product support where required to address customer enquiries and product-related issues.
• Process customer orders and coordinate with the warehouse, logistics team and relevant contractors to arrange delivery.
• Maintain customer relationships and provide after-sales support, resolving product or service issues and identifying further sales opportunities.
• Handle walk-in and phone enquiries, and help customers with product advice, pricing and orders.
• Track market trends and competitor pricing, and liaise with suppliers to stay informed on product availability and new releases.
• Attend trade shows, supplier events and industry functions to promote TVF Trading and build new business relationships.
