Job summary

Sydney Tools is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow our trade and commercial customer base across Central West NSW, Orange & Surrounds. You’ll own your territory, win new accounts, develop existing customers and deliver reliable service with store network support.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in field sales or business development, a proven track record of closing opportunities, and strong communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in field sales or business development.
• Proven track record of generating opportunities and winning business.
• Confident approaching new customers and engaging with buyers and site teams.
• Strong communication, negotiation and follow-up skills.
• Ability to plan workload and own results.
• Customer-focused approach and ability to work with store teams.
• Experience selling tools, machinery, fasteners or consumables into trade/industrial sectors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and win new customers through prospecting, site visits and referrals.
• Develop a practical territory plan focusing on the strongest opportunities.
• Understand customers’ requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions.
• Grow existing accounts by identifying additional purchasing needs and building repeat business.
• Manage opportunities from initial contact through quoting, follow-up and securing the sale.
• Coordinate customer enquiries, orders and service with regional stores.
• Maintain accurate customer records and a clear sales pipeline.
• Deliver sales and account growth targets while protecting profitability.
