Job summary

Buildcorp is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead its Remedial & Facade project portfolio. You will drive safe, high-quality, profitable delivery from conversion to handover, balancing engineering rigour with commercial discipline while coordinating residents, owners and consultants.

You will report to the Construction Director and manage Project Managers, Site Managers, Project Supervisors and Design Managers across multiple concurrent projects with a focus on remediation, facade

Qualifications

• Significant construction delivery experience (15+ years).
• Proven track record at Construction Manager, Project Director or Senior Project Manager level with a Tier 1/2 builder or specialist remedial contractor.
• Experience in remedial, facade, restoration, structural repair or complex refurbishment in live environments is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety compliance across every project per Buildcorp policies and high-risk activities.
• Guide tender processes: review methods, staging and live-environment planning; attend interviews and client meetings.
• Oversee financial management of all projects within the portfolio: budget, forecasting, variations and latent conditions.
• Oversee planning and programming on every project; ensure comprehensive plans and regular audits.
• Lead and mentor Project Managers and project teams; conduct regular reviews and provide performance feedback.
• Represent the business with clients, strata committees and engineers; promote capability through projects.

The Opportunity:

As Construction Manager you will lead the delivery of our Remedial & Facade project portfolio — safe, high quality and profitable projects from conversion, through construction, to handover, finalisation and review. You'll maximise client satisfaction, minimise construction risk and drive the financial result across the business unit.

Remedial construction is a discipline of its own. Scopes change once a building is opened up, the site is rarely empty, and the client is often a strata committee, an asset owner or an insurer rather than a developer. Leading well here means balancing engineering rigour, commercial discipline and a calm, credible presence with residents, owners and consultants — while running a high volume of concurrent projects across structural repair, waterproofing and facade replacement.

Reporting to the Construction Director, you'll lead our Project Managers, Site Managers, Project Supervisors, Contracts Managers, Project Engineers, and Design Managers and work alongside an engineering-led leadership team spanning construction, pre-construction, commercial and estimating.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Ensuring a practice of safety compliance exists across every project in line with the Buildcorp Health, Safety and Environment Manual and HSE policies — with particular leadership on high-risk activities including work at heights (swing stages, BMUs, scaffold and rope access), hazardous materials removal, and the separation of works from residents and the public.
• Guiding the tender process: reviewing and improving construction methodologies that win work — staging, access and live-environment planning — and attending tender interviews, client meetings and business development functions.
• Overseeing financial management of all projects in the business unit, including expenditure against budget, forecasting, and the rigorous management of variations and latent conditions to protect margin.
• Overseeing planning and programming on every project, ensuring comprehensive project plans and construction programmes are in place before commencement, and conducting regular programme audits to validate on-site status and reporting.
• Leading and mentoring Project Managers and project teams to achieve project and individual goals — running regular reviews against key deliverables, giving clear performance feedback, and acting swiftly on unsatisfactory performance.
• Representing the business with clients, strata committees, building managers, consulting engineers and industry bodies, and continually marketing our capability through current and completed projects.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Significant construction delivery experience (typically 15+ years), including a proven track record at Construction Manager, Project Director or Senior Project Manager level with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder or a specialist remedial contractor.
• Experience in remedial, facade, restoration, structural repair or complex refurbishment in live environments is highly regarded. We will also consider outstanding construction leaders from commercial building who can demonstrate the judgement to lead in a remedial setting.
• A tertiary qualification in construction management, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong commercial acumen, with demonstrated accountability for portfolio-level financial outcomes, forecasting and the management of variations and contractual risk.
