Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Configuration Lead in Alice Springs, Australia. You will lead a multi-skilled team to plan, develop and execute configuration changes for critical facilities, including electrical systems, cabling, power, and cooling.

You will supervise personnel, manage documentation, and ensure adherence to change management practices while performing hands-on electrical work and coordinating technical information for facility infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Must have leadership and project management experience in a facilities/engineering environment.
• Experience supervising multi-skilled teams and coordinating change management activities.
• Strong electrical/infrastructure knowledge including cabling, power, and cooling systems.
• Familiarity with facility infrastructure documentation and IFC/design deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Configuration team and assist in managing critical infrastructure configuration activities.
• Oversee electrical systems installation, cabling routing, fiber termination and infrastructure testing.
• Ensure change management practices and documentation are followed across projects.
• Coordinate programs, tasks and resources for facilities infrastructure changes and configurations.
• Provide technical advice on proposed changes from concept to IFC design.

About the Role

Amentum now have an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Lead based in Alice Springs, Australia. This position serves as a critical support role to the Configuration Supervisor, assisting in leading a multi-skilled team to efficiently plan, develop, and execute system and infrastructure configuration changes for critical facilities.

These changes encompass electrical systems, cabling (including fiber routing and termination), power management, and space and cooling requirements to support mission-critical operations.

It will see you provide a balance of leadership and technical capability, taking on supervisory responsibilities while performing hands-on work involving electrical infrastructure, cabling routing and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities Include

• Act as a support and leadership role to assist the Configuration Supervisor in the management, oversight and control of critical infrastructure configuration activities and associated documentation, ensuring adherence to change management practices and industry standards.

• Assist with the oversight of facilities infrastructure being provided to the Operations building.

• Perform hands-on electrical work, including the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems. Tasks include but are not limited to cable routing, fiber termination and infrastructure testing/optimization

• Assist in the management and control of critical infrastructure configuration and associated documentation ensuring change management practices are being followed.

• Supervision of an allocated team, including responsibility for planning, organizing, coordinating, scheduling, training, mentoring, and resource and performance management.

• Planning, coordination of programs and activities, systems and equipment, execution and administration of tasks in support of critical infrastructure management and changes

• Review and provide technical advice on proposed changes to facility infrastructure and systems, from general concepts through to detailed IFC designs.

• Support the integration, coordination, compilation and communication of technical information, recommendations and advice relevant to facility infrastructure, systems and equipment.

• Prepare, develop, update and manage documentation relevant to facility standard configuration.

• Maintain health and safety within the workplace by promoting safety awareness initiatives, discussions and trainings, encouraging a safety focused culture and participating and reviewing risk assessments

• Reporting of power and cooling requirements ensures that Configuration Supervisor remains across requirements and deliverables for the facilities infrastructure.

• Review of planned works and oversight of facilities infrastructure changes

• Accountable for the efficient functioning of their team, including the oversight and execution of critical system con-figuration changes, while ensuring high levels of service are maintained.

• Ensure that the configuration management function is delivered in a manner that maximizes equipment availability while minimizing mission risk.

About You

• US recognized Journeyman Electrical License

• US recognized Master Electrician’s License · BICSI or similar cabling design and install certification (highly desirable)

• Project management/planning experience with proven experience within a leadership position

• Configuration management experience

• Power generation and distribution, load management and data centre / critical power systems experience

• Building management and control systems

• HVAC experience (desirable)

• Experience in the field with strong background incommunications cabling and troubleshooting

• Ability to obtain ACMA Open Cablingregistration with endorsements – optical fiber,structured cable, coaxial

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Analytical capability to assess technical and project impacts

• Ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional processes

• Technical background in engineering design, systems engineering, or production
