Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Data Center Cabler for our Alice Springs facility to apply technical knowledge in installing, routing, labeling, testing, and documenting structured cabling systems supporting data center network, server, storage, security and facility infrastructure.

Role requires cabling certification, telecom experience, and ability to work autonomously with a focus on safety and quality. TS/SCI clearance is noted as a security requirement for employment consideration.

Qualifications

• BICSI or similar cabling design and install certification.
• Journeyman Electrical License desirable.
• ACMA Open Cabling registration with endorsements – optical fiber, structured cable, coaxial.
• 3 years working within the Telecommunications environment.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Must obtain White Card and Working at Heights.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational time-management and attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Experience installing structured cabling systems.
• Strong technical aptitude and interest in emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage, control, and maintain critical infrastructure configuration.
• Develop detailed requirements for facility infrastruc‑ture changes and upgrades.
• Provide technical support to engineering and design staff in cabling tasks.
• Review proposed changes to facility infrastructure and IFC designs.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute tasks supporting configuration changes.
• Provide recommendations on reliability, operation, maintenance and life-cycle costs.
• Perform technical studies and analyses as needed.

About the Role

We now have an opportunity for a Data Center Cabler this role will see you responsible for the independent application of relevant technical knowledge, techniques, and procedures associated with the installation, routing, labeling, testing, maintenance, and documentation of structured cabling systems supporting data center network, server, storage, security, and facility infrastructure, at our facility in Alice Springs, Australia

Responsibilities Include:

• Responsible for the management, control, and maintenance of critical infrastructure configuration.
• Identify, define and develop detailed requirements for facility infrastructure, equipment and system modification, replacement, upgrade and/or recapitalization.
• Provide technical support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction and operation of diverse cabling equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
• Review and provide technical advice on proposed changes to facility infrastructure and systems, from general concepts through to detailed IFC designs.
• Plan, coordinate, administer and execute tasks in support of critical infrastructure configuration change
• Provide technical recommendations, input, direction and advice on facilities system, infrastructure and equipment reliability, operation, maintenance, life‑cycle management and costing.
• Perform technical studies, analyses, investigations and consultations.

About You:

• BICSI or similar cabling design and install certification
• Journeyman Electrical License (desirable)
• Ability to obtain ACMA Open Cabling registration with endorsements – optical fiber, structured cable, coaxial
• 3 years working within the Telecommunications environment
• Proficient in the use of MS Office applications

Security Clearance Required:

It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance with Polygraph
