IAMD Communications Engineer

Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Communications Network Engineer to support IAMD C2 capability projects. You will contribute to producing and managing project documentation and artefacts, ensuring interoperability across networked defence systems.

The role requires demonstrated experience in IAMD/C2, systems engineering, and delivering technical briefs to senior audiences, with NV1 security clearance. Canberra location and 80 hours per fortnight apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with IAMD, TAC C2 engineering environments or related capabilities is advantageous.
• Ability to produce technical reports, briefs, and decision-support material for senior audiences.
• Strong understanding of cyber-security in defence environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise into the production, review, update and management of IAMD C2 project documentation.
• Support integration and interoperability activities across joint systems.

IAMD Communications Network Engineer

Role Description:

• Amentum is seeking an experienced specialist in Communications and Data Networks and Integration to provide expertise into the production, review, update and management of IAMD C2 capability project documentation and supporting artefacts .

Key responsibilities:

• The successful candidate will provide expertise into the production, review, update and management of IAMD C2 capability project documentation and supporting artefacts

Essential Requirements:

• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience supporting Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD), systems engineering and systems integration activities within the Australian Defence Force or a comparable defence environment. The response should demonstrate experience contributing to the development and integration of complex, networked Defence capabilities within a joint system-of-systems environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience supporting Defence capability development activities, including capability definition, requirements development, options analysis, technical assessments and the development of capability documentation within the ADF Capability System.
• Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering principles to complex Defence capability projects, including architecture development, interface definition, interoperability analysis and systems integration activities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Command and Control (C2) systems, Combat Management Systems (CMS), Tactical Data Links, Defence networks and interoperability considerations relevant to joint and coalition operations.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a dynamic project environment, engage with a broad range of Defence stakeholders and prepare technical reports, briefs and decision-support material for senior military and civilian audiences

Essential qualifications:

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Software engineering or similar
• Strong working knowledge in cyber-security

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience in IAMD, TAC C2 engineering environments or other related capabilities would be an advantage

Location: Canberra

Hours: 80hr per fortnight, as agreed with client.
